SWTCH Joins White House EV Adoption Challenge to Expand Accessible Access to EV Charging

04/04/2023

SWTCH is pleased to announce that we have joined the White House’s EV Adoption Challenge, an initiative aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and building the necessary infrastructure to support them. SWTCH’s commitment involves deploying more than 20,000 EV chargers by 2024, the majority of which will serve multi-family buildings, to expand access to EV charging in underserved communities.

The EV Adoption Challenge is a key program launched by the Biden-Harris Administration to make owning an EV more affordable and accessible for all Americans, reduce carbon emissions, and create a more sustainable future. As part of the challenge, companies and organizations were invited to make commitments that accelerate EV adoption, build charging infrastructure, and expand access to EVs in underserved communities.

SWTCH’s commitment to deploy over 20,000 EV chargers by 2024 will significantly increase access to EV charging infrastructure in underserved communities, particularly in multi-family buildings where many residents do not have access to personal garages and driveways. We recognize that access to EV charging is a critical barrier to EV adoption, and our commitment aims to address this barrier head-on.

We believe that everyone should be able to participate in the fight against climate change through access to clean transportation. By deploying EV chargers in multi-family buildings in underserved communities, we are making EVs more accessible and helping to create a more sustainable future for all.

SWTCH is proud to be a part of the EV Adoption Challenge and to work towards our mission of creating a world powered by clean energy. We are committed to expanding access to EV charging infrastructure and accelerating the adoption of EVs to reduce carbon emissions and build a more sustainable future for everyone.
