EV Charging Incentive Offers 50% Rebate (Up to $100K) for Ontario Businesses

06/17/2025

EV adoption is growing rapidly—and with it, the need for accessible, reliable charging infrastructure. Fortunately, a new EV Charger Incentive Program from Green Economy Canada funded by Natural Resources Canada is making it significantly easier for organizations across Ontario to invest in EV charging, offering up to $100,000 in funding for eligible projects.

Whether you’re a property manager, business owner, nonprofit leader, or municipal planner, this is a unique opportunity to electrify your site and contribute to a more sustainable future:

About the Program

Launched by Green Economy Canada, this incentive program is designed to help organizations install Level 2 and DC Fast Charging stations by covering up to 50% of total project costs, with a maximum of $100,000 in funding per applicant. Recipients can receive up to $5,000 per level 2 port.

Eligible costs include:

  • Purchase and installation of EV charging stations

  • Electrical and site upgrades

  • Labour and contractor fees

  • Related permitting and inspection costs

With such comprehensive coverage, the program helps break down one of the biggest barriers to EV infrastructure deployment: upfront cost.

Who Can Apply?

The program is open to a wide range of Ontario-based applicants, including:

  • Multi-unit residential buildings (MURBs)

  • Commercial and industrial properties

  • Municipal and academic institutions

  • Indigenous communities

  • Not-for-profit organizations

It’s a particularly strong fit for building owners looking to meet tenant demand, future-proof assets, or align with corporate ESG goals.

Why It Matters

As EV demand continues to grow, installing charging infrastructure is no longer just a nice-to-have—it’s a competitive advantage. Organizations that invest today will be better positioned to attract residents, customers, and partners who prioritize sustainability and convenience.

Moreover, Ontario’s building codes and government policies are increasingly EV-friendly. By tapping into programs like this one, early movers can ensure compliance and minimize future retrofit costs.
