Curo and SWTCH Announce Strategic Partnership to Expand Access to Scalable EV Charging for Fleets

08/05/2025

New collaboration unlocks seamless, flexible EV charging for distributed fleets by connecting Curo’s Virtual Depot platform with SWTCH’s robust charging network

August 5, 2025 at 9:00 A.M. ET – San Francisco, CA – In a move to accelerate the commercial electrification of fleets and unlock stronger returns from EV infrastructure, Curo and SWTCH Energy today announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration connects Curo’s Virtual Depot platform with SWTCH’s charging network, enabling seamless access to distributed charging infrastructure for fleets—while increasing utilization and revenue for property owners.

Fleet operators enrolled in Curo’s Virtual Depot can now lease and charge at SWTCH-equipped sites across North America, including residential and commercial locations. This opens up hundreds of new off-take opportunities for site hosts while helping property owners activate idle or underperforming chargers.

The partnership is designed to address two of the industry’s biggest friction points: lack of charging access for commercial fleets and underutilized EV charging assets. The collaboration aims to increase utilization of existing charging assets, support property owners in deploying new charging solutions, and provide fleets with instant, reliable access to distributed charging.

“Our CPO partners are essential to our Virtual Depot model—and this partnership with SWTCH is especially exciting,” said Kieran White, CEO and Co-Founder of Curo. “Collaboration across the EV ecosystem is key to unlocking the full value of charging infrastructure. By working with SWTCH’s open network and forward-thinking team, we can help property owners maximize ROI and bring fleets the access they need, faster.”

“Enabling property owners to maximize their existing assets is core to our approach,” said Rick Hardy-Cheam, Director of Strategy at SWTCH. “Working with Curo will unlock utilization and revenue potential on our charging infrastructure, delivering strong returns for our customers.”

Since launching in 2016, SWTCH has been at the forefront of intelligent charging solutions that improve efficiency and streamline management for property owners. Most recently, SWTCH was selected by Greystar—the largest apartment operator in the U.S.—to manage 2,500 EV chargers across 136 properties in Washington State, further cementing its leadership in multi-tenant and distributed infrastructure.

As a platform helping commercial fleets to lease EV and parking infrastructure, Curo is operational in 14 U.S. states and counting, with over 200 vehicles operating from a virtual depot every single day. Curo has secured partnerships with local and national fleet operators as well as leading property ownership groups across the country.
